Focus on Nature presents new exhibits of student photography at 10C Shared Space

GUELPH, ON – Focus on Nature is delighted to announce the opening of their Fresh Perspectives gallery exhibits, featuring work by local young photographers who have participated in Focus on Nature in-school workshops and day camps. Selected from thousands of student photos taken throughout 2021 and 2022, these images use different camera and editing techniques to highlight the beauty of nature.

Focus on Nature is a local organization that Inspires youth to explore and connect with nature through photography. Photography provides new ways of seeing and understanding our local environment. Focus on Nature encourages young photographers to slow down and appreciate the world around them. Their day camps and workshops foster a genuine interest in and appreciation for nature as a key step toward long-term environmental stewardship. This new visual display shows how young people are getting out and engaging with the natural world.

“The Focus on Nature exhibitions of photographs taken by the students who have participated in the school workshops and camps are always stunning. It is a great pleasure to be able to help with hanging the pictures for the exhibitions and then see the impact and strong reactions of the audiences to each piece of art”, says Bob Fanning, board president of Focus on Nature.

The exhibition will take place in two parts over September and October at 10C Shared Space in Guelph. Thanks to generous donations from Musagetes and Linamar, each photographer will receive a professionally printed copy of their work.

Location: 10C Shared Space, 42 Carden Street, Downtown Guelph

Dates: September 1-15 & October 17-31

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
