We have partnered with the City of Hamilton’s Battlefield House Museum & Park to offer a nature and photography camp during the week of August 8-12.
Our camps are a great opportunity for young photographers aged 7 to 13 to develop their skills while exploring all the natural beauty that the gardens and trails of Battlefield House have to offer. As well as being outdoors each day on guided walks, playing outdoor games and other nature activities, campers will have the chance to edit their images, make a slideshow, and take home some of their best photos.
The camps run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm each day. The fee per camper is $275. Extended hours for drop-off and pick-up can be arranged. Please use our online form to register.
Cameras and laptops will be provided, though campers may bring their own. Campers should bring their own drinks, snacks and lunch each day, and be dressed appropriately for the weather. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
We encourage the campers to see the beauty in the details of nature and learn how to capture it with their cameras. The planned activities include short lessons about visual design and camera controls, morning photo walks around Battlefield Park and different nature activities each afternoon. Each camper will have a laptop for photo editing and creating a final slideshow.
Payment should be made by Interac transfer to payments(at)focusonnature.ca with photos as the password. We can refund fees in full up to 30 days before camp starts. After that, we can still refund if we have a camper on a waiting list.
Space is currently limited to 25 campers for each week, so if you are interested in enrolling your child or have any further questions, please register now or contact Maya Ewert at maya(at)focusonnature.ca. And if you know of others who might be interested in our Summer Camps at the Battlefield House Museum and Park, please spread the word!
