Focus on Nature is now providing an online nature photography program to support teachers and students learning from home. Through this free program, students will be encouraged to engage with their creativity and explore nature in their own home and backyard.
For the remainder of the school year we will be posting weekly photography lessons each Monday morning to a Google Drive folder, covering various photography concepts. Students and teachers will have access to weekly video lessons from our team, as well as a photography challenge related to the lesson to complete for that week.
After completing the challenges, students will upload their photos to a Google Photos album for their class. Short writing assignments will also be included throughout the next few weeks for each student to reflect on their artwork.
To access these lessons and utilize them for your class, please register to provide us with your class information. After registering, you will be provided with a link to our shared Google Drive with information for teachers, instructions for students, and our first lesson on the Elements of Design.
Every Monday this drive will be updated with a new lesson for teachers and students to utilize. Instructions will also be provided to students in written and video formats on how to use Google Photos to upload, edit, and answer the writing prompts for their photography.
We hope that these weekly lessons will aid teachers, students, and parents in the e-learning curriculum, and help students engage with nature and their creativity during these uncertain times.
