Nature Heals Photography Exhibit






Focus on Nature is please to announce the opening of a very special photography exhibit commissioned by the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital as a tribute to retired hospital CEO Richard Ernst.
The exhibit of 60 of the best photographs by young nature photographers in the Focus on Nature program will be displayed at Flo Studio, 260 Waterloo Ave. in Guelph from November 9th to December 9th, 2014. An opening reception with many of the photographers in attendance will be held on Sunday, November 9th from 2pm to 5pm. After the public exhibit the photographs will be hung throughout the hospital to forever brighten the lives of patients and staff alike.

“Thanks to the hospital foundation, there are 60 very proud young photographers who have discovered that their art can make a difference in other people’s lives,” said Simon Bell, Focus on Nature’s Executive Director, “Exposure to nature, even in a well-composed photograph, enhances a sense of wellbeing and can promote healing.”

“I’m very please that these beautiful images will soon be on the walls of the Guelph General Hospital ” said Suzanne Bone, CEO of the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital, “Thanks to the generosity of the hospital’s doctors and midwives, this will be a lasting tribute to Richard Ernst.”

Focus on Nature is a Registered Charity and Ontario Non-profit Corporation based in Guelph. With volunteers and donated equipment, they conducted school-based photography workshops that inspire young people to connect with the natural world and discover their own creative potential.

During the exhibit, Flo Studio, home of Trina Koster Photography, will have the following hours available for public visits:
Tues: 11am – 12:30pm
Wed: 11am – 6pm
Thurs: 10am – 12pm
